![]() (highlighted in teal)? Those mark where the sprite goes over the in-game grid. You see those slightly smaller rectangles I have in the guides up there ? The ones that are just 4 pixels across Remember, each row is which way they’re facing! I remember which one goes where by the handy nmonic “Never Ever Smoke Weed” (North, East, South, and then West on the bottom). The 4 rows (across) are for the 4 directions your character will face in game: north, east, south, and west. The left and right columns are the character when they’re moving. The center column (down) of your boxes are where you put what the character looks like when they’re not moving. You can change the color yourself of course, and find a few different versions floating around the net (mine’s modified from a template I found in my template tag!)Įach 3x4 block of boxes are one character, like this: There’s no difference other than one’s a light guide and the other’s dark. Since I’m not quite sure what you’re asking, here’s some tutorials on how to create character sprites & pixel art in general if you just want some advice
